Pre-Christmas Deals: Zara Semi-Annual Sale + Old Navy Earn $20 for every $25 spent

Since Christmas is closing in, lots of stores are pulling all the stops for customers to make sure they shop at their store. Like Old Navy for instance, they usually offer $10 in super cash (can be used on your next purchase of $25 or more) if you spend $25, but from 12/20 - 12/24 you can get $20 in super cash for every $25 you spend (max of $60 in super cash per transaction) in stores. These can be used on 1/31 -2/6. And they are doing a Furby giveaway on Saturday for the first 100 customers (will get a chance to win 1 of 5 Furbys). I use to remember these were popular in the early 2000s and it looks like they are a hot ticket again this holiday season.

Lastly if you are a fan of Zara, they are starting their semi-annual sale in-stores and online tomorrow! What is great is they offer free shipping and returns for online orders. I don't usually shop here as I find that I can find the similar styles at H&M for less but the quality at Zara seems to be a bit better so I might check out the sale tomorrow when it starts online.

Victoria Secret - 20% off 1 item in stores 12/15 - 12/16

As Christmas looms closer and closer (11 days and counting), retailers are throwing out the discounts for last minute shoppers or anyone looking to get something for themselves. Victoria Secret sent out a 20% off one item valid for tomorrow and Sunday. Just click on the image above to get your copy of the coupon, the coupon also states that you can just show the coupon on your phone to receive the discount as well (how eco-friendly!).

As for me, I have been scooping up the great deals from Wrapp, the gift card giving app I have mentioned before. The past week I have received a $10 H&M, $10 MLB.com and $5 Sephora gift card all for free so if you have not downloaded it, do it now. From now until Christmas, everyday they are releasing a new gift card freebie, follow then on Facebook or Twitter or check their site daily to see what they have to offer. Today they are offering a free $5 Threadless gift card when you give 3 to friends (free to give & receive). *Note that you need Facebook for this app to work.

Influenster: College Voxbox Review

Pardon the quality, I used my Ipod Touch 4g to take it.

Last month I got chosen to receive a college voxbox from Influenster, a site where they let users test out products and spread the word about the products via social media. I was actually surprised that I got chosen since I graduated last year but happy nonetheless. Below are the contents of what I received along with my review of each item.

ImPress Press-On Manicure
Although I really wanted to try this, I received the one with the neon pink with leopard print which are definitely not my style. Wish they would have sent out something that was more neutral or asked us which colors/styles we preferred before sending a random one out to us.

NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Eye-liner Pencil
I was excited to try this out since I haven't been using drugstore eyeliners for a while since I felt that most of them were harsh and did not glide smoothly on my lids. However this one did, I love the way the color looks and it definitely could be worn casually, I mean after all its black eyeliner. I did not like that it smudges, after about an hour or so it happened, wish it was waterproof. Good for the price ($2.49) but I would not buy it.

Necco Tropical Wafers
I remember eating these from Valentines day when I was little and like most people I did not like the plain taste of them and the chalky taste as people have described. But when I opened my college voxbox all I could smell was this product, and it was good! I tried a few and can say that I have come to enjoy them now more than before, its a great candy alternative but can't say I am completely sold on the taste.

Pentel EnerGel-X
What can I say, its a pen and I am easily impressed if they glide smoothly on my paper and this does just that. I received the one in purple and am surprised that it does not smudge since it is a gel ink. Definitely a fan.

Energy Sheets
I have actually tried these before and absolutely love them, they do provide energy as stated and they are the size of Listerine breath strips. That is one reason I love them, they are compact unlike energy drinks or coffee cups. According to the package 2 strips is equivalent to the same amount of caffeine found in a cup of coffee. A pack comes with 10 strips which can last me a few months if not more since I don't rely on energy supplements. The taste is not the best but they are tolerable, I am not surprised that there is an aftertaste afterward, after all it is an energy supplement.

H&M - Exchange your old clothes for discount

So I was reading today about how in February 2013 H&M is going to start collecting clothes (old or new) for recycling and in exchange will give customers a discount. How great of an offer is that? The new program called iCollect, will have bins by the register for customers to put their bags of clothing for recycling. More details about this when it hits closer to launch. I for one think this is a great idea, how many of us do not know what to do with old clothing, especially ones we cannot donate since they are unwearable due to stains, wear etc?

Forever 21 Free Shipping Today Only

After their recent Friends & Family discount, Forever 21 strikes again today with a free shipping on any order, no code required. Below is the blouse I picked up during Saturday's Friends & Family event, I tried on two neck-tie blouses but I passed since it was a basic that I did not necessary needed. From afar I did not know what the print was but upon closer inspection I realized it was Rams, random right? I like the cream color, how the buttons are covered up by a pleat and lastly the two gold studs on the collar, a decent price for $15.xx after discount.

What a great way to kick off a December with a Friends & Family discount at Forever 21? For tomorrow only, print out the following coupon and bring it in-stores to receive 21% off your purchase (maximum purchase of $300). For some reason the coupon will not show up on my email on my laptop but shows up fine on my Ipod Touch, so I had to get the coupon from the internet.

The only stores that are not participating on the 2nd are the following stores which will be participating on the 3rd instead:

City Creek Center, UT
University Mall - Orem, UT

Here are a few of my picks for the sale:

Black Friday Haul: H&M, Kohls & Sephora inside Jcpenney

So what I was really excited was the H&M scratchcard giveaway for Black Friday, as you can win up to a $300 gift card. I stood in line for a little over an hour for the midnight opening and ended up getting a $50 off $75, an hour well spent if you ask me. I got 2 blazers ($15 for the maroon, $20 for a plaid w/black trim (which I plan on returning), 1 dress ($49.95 not on sale) and a top ($10). Sorry for the bad pictures, maybe next time I'll model them instead, clothes always look better on a form then laid out.
Off course all 3 items above are keepers, they actually look great with everything, the dress is a shiny material and has this nice pattern going on. As for the white shirt I was sure of it when I first saw it since the top was sheer and the bottom half was a double layer but after trying it on with the blazer above I knew it was a keeper. Not to mention there are two gold buttons that make this top look chic.

Next I was really excited to head over to Jcpenney since they started a promotion on Black Friday that goes until 11/24 where you go to any register and ask for a free button. On the back of these buttons there is a code where you type in on their site to win a number of different prizes (gift cards, electronics, vacation). The odds are pretty well as I checked the site, 1 in 8 will win a $5 gift card to Jcpenney and did I mention, there is no purchase necessary to receive a button. I was hoping to get the Ole Henriksen three little wonders set for $10 and stopped by the one inside Jcpenney and thankfully they still had a few left (I was there around 10am). I used a $10 gift card I received from the app Wrapp (where you can give & receive free $5 gift cards to Sephora, Gap, H&M to name a few). At the cash register the cashier gave me two buttons and I entered them online and won $5 and $10 from them, what a great deal. Unfortunately they cannot be used at the Sephora inside Jcpenney but free is free.

Check out LC Lauren Conrad Collection @ Kohl's
Finally before Black Friday, on Thursday I moseyed on over Kohl's website since they already started their deals online. I have always been a fan of Lauren Conrad, and I do like some of the designs she comes out with in her Kohl's LC Lauren Conrad line. So I went and bought a few things since some others were just overpriced even with the 40-50% off discount on her line. I got this sweater dress for $24 (sale for $30 + 20% + 6% cashback) since I love cutout sweaters especially if it has leaves like this one does, I also love the color it came in. The blazer ($16, on sale for $20) I like since it has two colors and its a tuxedo look to it and it would look like a great casual blazer, and lastly I got a bra just because I needed one.

The order that I made on Thursday from Kohl's also arrived today, so I was able to post reviews of the items that I got.

LC Lauren Conrad Ruched Blazer

I love the way this blazer looks but it came to me really wrinkled and I did not like how the opening at the bottom looked on me. I will probably keep it for a few more days and try it out with other things to see how it looks.

LC Lauren Conrad Pointelle Sweaterdress

The color of this dress actually does not look as bright as this stock picture shows but I love this. The belt that came with it looks cheap but other than that this is a keeper. It is flattering and adds curves to my tomboy frame. I also like the back where there are two bowties that makes this dress unique.

Cyber Monday Purchase & Deals

So Black Friday has officially come and gone, and I am happy to say that I got my share of deals that day (more about that on a later post). Checking out the Cyber Monday days throughout the past day or so, nothing much has caught my eye as being a stand out deal. I think the best deal is actually free shipping for some retailers since they rarely offer that. Also be sure to check out my last post since that also features deals for Cyber Monday.

Amazon Shoes & Handbags - save $20 off $100 or $50 off $200 on select shoes, boots and handbags with code CYBERSHOE
Anthropologie - Free shipping on all orders today, no code needed. You can find a good amount of deals under $50 in the sale section as well.
Forever 21 - Free shipping on any order using code CYBERMON
Gap - save 30% with code CYBER, (ebates is offering 10% cashback)
J.Crew Factory - 50% off everything & free shipping with code YOURGIFT
Piperlime - 20% off your entire purchase using code CYBER
Sephora - Free shipping on orders $25+ through the 11/28, code SHIPNOW
Shoes.com - 20% off sitewide with code CYBER

If you were planning on making a purchase anywhere online today make sure you use a cashback site to save some extra $$ since most of them are offering double or even more cash back for Cyber Monday, for more info check out: Cashback 101.

Get 6% cash back from Myhabit on Ebates

Here is what I picked up today from MyHabit, a site that is similar to Gilt and Rue La La but owned by Amazon. Since they sent me a 25% off code I thought I would browse the site for something since I already have gift cards that I redeemed from Swagbucks (search & win rewards site). I found a Me! shower scrub for $15 (originally $30), and with the 25% and 6% cash back that Ebates is offering, I ended up paying around $10.58 with my gift cards which is almost 60% off retail. I have always wanted to try out their bath products and I was running low on shower scrub as well so this could not have come at a better time.

Beauty Deal: Allure Beauty Box coming out on Black Friday

Allure is probably one of the first places I remember where you would pay a certain amount and receive all different types of beauty/skincare products to try out. And now they are releasing one on Black Friday at 12:01PM EDT, the items seem to be more drugstore brands now then before but it is still a great deal for $29.99 + shipping you receive full sizes of the items below, and even though these Beauty Boxes are not as popular as they were before they still sell out.

Black Friday: Sephora & Ulta $10 Deals & More

Sephora is offering up $10 Black Friday only deals.

For all your beauty enthusiants or bargin hunters, Sephora has released their $10 specials for Black Friday on their Facebook page and I have posted them below for you as well. These are great way to try out a product you have been meaning to or use as a stocking stuffer. What I am really looking forward to is the Ole Hendrickson set since it looks like the best deal to me and not to mention I own a lot of makeup that I do not use. Also these deals are available online on Black Friday as well, but these deals are only available for the 23rd, so if you want them act fast (most stores open midnight)!

$10 Sephora Deals, valid online & in-stores 11/23 only.
For Ulta, they also have some $10 deals for Black Friday, but not as enticing as the Sephora deals for me, however they offer some nice $10 Bare Essential sets and some great deals on Urban Decay sets as you can see below. To see the full Ulta ad, click here or sign up for their mailing list.

Amazon 20% off Select Handbags & Shoes

See which shoes & handbags qualify for the sale!
Curse you Amazon for having so many great deals, since the last 20% on handbag and accessories ended last Friday I thought it be a bit before they came out with another discount. But low and behold today I see they are doing the promo again as a Black Friday week sale (thru the 21st). What is great is that this time not only it is on handbags but also on shoes, (woot woot!) however it says on select, which means not all items will work, guess you will just have to do a trial and error. Just enter code: WNTRSHOE at checkout. Check back later this week as I will be posting more great deals for Black Friday!

Cole Haan 'Air Nancy 2' Boot

On a side note, I have been eying two pairs of Cole Haan kids boots (which I find most people who wear size 8 and under can fit) to fill my riding boot void, not to mention replace a current boot that is dying a slow death as I write this. After seeing someone wearing one of them, I lost interest in one of them and am only interested in one pair (the one you see above). I love how it has two tones and that it is a really versatile piece that can be worn with anything. Still eyeing them and hope they go down even more, with the 20% they are decent enough of a price but I am still holding out for a better deal. Wish me luck!

Rebecca Minkoff Swing & Black Friday Excitement

Interchangable chain? Side zipper? Front Flap? Yes, yes, and yes!

So I have been saving up my Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks, Viggle etc. (more info on these apps here: How My Ipod Touch Paid for Itself - 4 Apps to Download) for a Rebecca Minkoff Swing for awhile now and finally saved enough for it. Therefore I have been stalking the Amazon website the past two weeks to find a great deal on it. Granted I wanted a black or black quilted, but a burgundy one popped up and there was only 1 in stock, alas after going back and forth for what seemed like an eternity I finally clicked on the purchase button. Not to mention it was Amazon's last day for 20% off a purchase of $80 on handbag and accessories. Now to wait until Black Friday for it to arrive.

Speaking of Black Friday, I am more interested in online sales since I think they have more stock/sizes and not to mention not having to brave the crowds and the cold of the Northeast. But unfortunately one of my favorite stores H&M, does not have a commerce site to purchase on. I am braving the crowds again in the middle of the night to try and get a gift card from them, details below. Last year I arrived at H&M 20 past midnight (was on the interweb waiting for the Amazon black friday sale to begin) when they opened and surprise surprise did not get a gift card but scored two awesome deals ($15 blazer and black sheath).

Any black friday sales you are definitely shopping?

Labor Day Sale: Aerie 40% off & AE 30% off + free shipping

So I have been back from Florida a few days and definitely feel a change, it is not as hot up here as it is down here and it is weird driving with the speedometer back on the left side (my rental car had it in the middle of the car so weird). Anyway with Labor Day coming up, retailers are cooking up some great sales, especially Aerie who is having 40% off their entire selection (clearance included) online and in stores AND there is free shipping to boot. I had to do a double take when I saw the discount as 40% is rarely offered. Just type in code 70423781 at checkout to receive the discount, as for American Eagle they are offering a decent 30% off when you use code 70423781. Discount starts today and ends September 3rd, happy shopping!

Amazon - 20% off Shoe & Handbag Purchase

Calling all fashionistas! Amazon is currently offering a 20% off discount (up to $1000 purchase) on shoes and handbags when you sign up for their shoe store emails. Since I have been on the watch for a Rebecca Minkoff Swing and Mini Mab, this could not have come at a better time (now I just have to speed up on getting my Amazon gift cards see article How My Ipod Touch Paid for Itself - 4 Apps to Download for more info). Since Amazon sells virtually every brand, you are bound to find something you like! However I am not sure when the coupon expires as I am waiting a bit before I get my coupon in case the expiration date is relevant to when you signed up.

PS. I will be going on a road trip starting tomorrow to Orlando, and will not return until the end of the month, so unfortunatly no updates until then.

H&M 20% off Entire Purchase + $15 off $75

EDIT: Even though the 20% off your entire purchase is no longer valid, the $15 off $75 purchase offer is still valid until the end of the month!

So as a fan of H&M I found this incredable deal that is happening tomorrow at H&M stores, Teen Vogue is hosting a Back to School event at select malls across the nation along with discounts for back to school shopping tomorrow. H&M is participating and they are offering 20% off your entire purchase, since all the coupons I have seen for H&M are for one item, having 20% off the entire purchase is pretty enticing. Downside is you need to have an Iphone or Ipod Touch to download their app to receive most of the discounts (other discount are for online usage). All you need to do to take advantage of the offer is to open the app at H&M tomorrow and redeem!

Click here to see other discounts being offered tomorrow.

Part of why I am so excited about this 20% off your entire purchase is that, there is also another H&M deal going on at My Linkables. This website requires you to link a credit card that you use and you can link offers that they currently have to your account. For the month of August they have an H&M deal where if you spend $75 you will receive $15 back from them in the form of Paypal. The deal is valid for the whole month of August, so even if you do not get to take advantage of the 20% you can still get 20% off since $15 off $75 is 20%.

So if you are able to take advantage of both of these offers you will be able to save up to 33% off (that is only if you spend the minimum to take advantage of the deal; spend at least $94 to qualify for both offers. $94.00 * 20% = $75.0-, $75.20-$15.00=$60.20).

Little Ways to Save More

The title of this post is what I usually think when I see people who could do little things to save money, like for instance a signing up for a CVS Extra Care card. If you do not like carrying around a bunch of reward cards, CVS has you covered since you only need to provide your phone number to get savings. Not to mention I get all my drugstore brand beauty fix from them, they offer so many deals that it is hard not to take advantage. Below are just a few things I thought that can save everyone some money when they are making a clothing or beauty purchase. If you also haven't noticed a lot of discounts are now found on electronics whereas before I used to remember stores would send you coupons in the mail along with a small booklet showcasing their newest arrivals. Now we can save some trees in the process of saving!

Signing up for reward cards
Refer to my guide to beauty reward programs for more info (Beauty Reward Programs - How to Get More From Your Beauty Purchases)
A well known way to save is a reward card or a loyalty card at stores. A lot of stores now have a rewards program where you get perks if you shop their often enough. Even though a lot of stores have one that does not give you free reign to sign up for all of them, these things take up space in a wallet. So I would advise signing up for a few and mainly to stores you shop at often so you can rack up the rewards. For example Express has a new rewards program where you can get rewarded once you spend $200 (although it may seem a lot, if you shop there once every quarter and spend $50 you already have $200 right there).

Here are some of my favorite reward programs:
Ulta - spend as little as $50 per quarter and receive a freebie of your choice, refer to Ulta website for more info
Sephora - free birthday gift that changes yearly, receive deluxe samples when you spend $100 ($1 per 1 point)

As you can see I do not really have a lot of rewards card since I do not spend a lot at stores, I try to use discounts on everything I purchase.

Shop Early
Like the saying early bird catches the worm, the earlier during the day you shop the better selection. Same goes for earlier during the week, the weekend tends to be more busy at stores/malls therefore you will not only have to deal with long lines but also a picked over selection.

Price Adjustments
If you like sales, then this is a great option for those always on the hunt for a bargain. Price adjustments are good if you are the type of person who likes to carry around receipts of all the purchases that you make, because like most people I use to just dump out my receipts. A lot of store policies are if the item you bought has lowered in price usually within 14 days (or 10) you can bring the receipt in and they will refund you the difference. I noticed however that some stores require you to also bring in the item and receipt to get a price adjustment to make it harder on people to do so. If you frequent the mall on a weekly basis, this is a great way to technically get your moneys worth on your trip to the mall.

Magazines
I currently receive some magazines and sometimes they have coupons in them, or alert me to freebies at certain stores. For example Seventeen magazine offers their readers free items from time to time, currently they are offering a mini size Orly nail polish at Ulta. If you do not want to spend money on a magazine, try subscribing if you read it often enough. If not always be on the lookout for free magazine subscriptions (I currently do not pay for any of my magazine subscriptions). Check out blog Hunt 4 Freebies for free magazine subscriptions from time to time.

Facebook
If you have a Facebook account, liking your favorite retailer or brand has its perks. For example Bath & Body works releases coupons for a trial size of their newest scents. Free lotion anyone? I have accumulated over a dozen of these freebies over the past year or so, so it definitely pays to 'Like' something.

Here are some pages I recommend for liking:
Victoria's Secret - occasionally releases coupons for a free pair of panties with or without purchase, around the holidays they have previously done a secret rewards promo where you could win gift cards with amounts $10, $25, $50, $100 or $500 (no purchase necessary)
Cvs / Minute Clinic / Cvs Beauty Club - all are apart of the Cvs brand, and they have freebies for their fans. Right now you can get a free 2 oz. Cvs brand sunscreen when you like Minute Clinic

Swagbucks - Search & Win

Today I will be posting about Swagbucks (referral), a website where you essentially get rewarded for searches you would usually be doing. For me I have been using Swagbucks since late 2009, and have redeemed for over $300 in giftcards from Amazon (450 swagbucks for $5). How it works is whenever you search you can win anywhere from 7 - 50 swagbucks (it is all random), although  you cannot get points for every search. It definitely  helps when you have the search bar since in the beginning I would always forget to go to the site and do my searches. What is great is that there are other ways you can earn swagbucks, most recently I have been doing surveys which had paid me 125 swagbucks  for just a few minutes of my time, others can be as long as 40 minutes long but the amount you earn varies (from 20-300 swagbucks). You can get points from watching videos in the Swagbucks Tv, and lets not forget Swag Codes (if you like them on Facebook or follow then on Twitter) they release codes on a daily basis.

In terms of rewards Besides Amazon gift cards, they offer a bunch of other rewards in their catalog like Sephora, Restaurant.com gift cards to name a few. The Amazon gift cards in $5 denominations are the best value and since I am trying to save up for a Rebecca Minkoff Swing, I am trying to save up my gift cards right now so that I can score it for free because who wants to pay for something when you can earn points to get it for less? Therefore I would really appreciate it if you guys can sign up under my referral link, and how referral's work is that whenever the person you referred wins swagbucks during searches the person you who referred you wins those points also (up to 1000 swagbucks).
