Beauty Savings - Sephora Benefit Moisturizer Purchase

So I have been on a tight budget lately since I am down one job so here is a recent purchase I made at Sephora during their 15 Days of Beauty Thrills. I was in the market for a new moisturizer and after searching and trying on different samples I settled on this one from Benefit. I love how this feels light, and after having it on for a whole day it makes my combination skin feel not oily like other moisturizers do. So with my already saved Viggle (Learn more about Viggle here: How My Ipod Touch Paid for Itself - 4 Apps to Download ) points for Sephora gift cards, I knew that scoring this at a great deal was highly likely.

With my 5 eGift certificates I was looking to buy up to $50 worth of goods to also get free shipping but when I called in my order I also found something about Sephora's new site that did not make me a happy camper, they could only accept 3 eGift certificates since their new system would only allow that many. Their old system allowed much more. So I took out the other item in my basket and just bought my much needed moisturizer. Since it was the last day of Sephora's 15 Days of Beauty Thrills they were offering their best deal yet, 10% off so even though I could not use 5 of my eGift cards 10% off did help offset some of the shipping I had to pay. Here is how I made out..

Price of item $28.00
Sephora 10% off ( - $2.80 )
Tax ( + $1.57 )
Shipping ( + $5.95 )
Paid a total of $2.74 a savings of 90% of the original $28. Plus I will be getting back $1.23 from Cashback site Big Crumbs (5 % cashback)

Shoe Savings - American Eagle Gladiator Flats

Pictures taken from the AE website

So this is my first official post of the new Pretty Little Savings, and I am going to start off with my most recent shoe purchase. I recently bought a pair of sandals that didn't fit my staple wardrobe bill but since I had a gift card from American Eagle, I bit the bullet and bought it since they had a 40% off sale during Memorial Weekend. The shoes seem to be sold out now but, when I was previously watching the shoes bi-weekly to see if they were on sale or if my size was still available something weird happened. When the sale hit they were no where to be found on the site, disappointed I came up empty during the sale and a few days later looked at the site again and there they were, I quickly bought them. Now my dilemma is how to wear them, I already own a pair of gladiator sandals and always feel like they make me look shorter, of course I could pair them with shorts, but how about dresses? Decisions, decisions.

Here are tips on how I scored these for $29.70 from regular $49.50.
- Used $20 Gift Card (present)
- Used a gift card that I had from a return I made from AE
- Got $0.83 in cash back from Big Crumbs, 2.8% cashback (check out Cashback 101 for more info)
- Waited until they were on sale (practically stalked these for at least a month)
- I remember when my gym teacher from elementary school told us that if we really wanted something instead of buying on impulse to wait for 2 months and if the time passed and we still wanted it that shows that the buy wasn't impulsive but worth the wait.

If you guys read my article: How My Ipod Touch Paid for Itself - 4 Apps to Download then you could use gift cards you've earned to save even more!
Overall paid $8.87 a 82% savings from the original $49.50 price tag!

Hey everyone, so the past couple of days I have been thinking of how to revamp the blog. Going the personal blogging route, the previous 'beauty reward' post is something that I would love to do more as the information doesn't expire and it can help you save more in the long run. So keep checking back for more informative posts, from yours truly, A.
