Beauty Reward Programs - How to Get More From Your Beauty Purchases

Hope everyone is enjoying their June so far, its suppose to be summerlike but the weather has been more than gloomy these past few days in Boston. I am trying to think up new ideas for the blog, and how to help you guys save more in the long-run and therefore I am presenting you with an article I wrote to teach you guys how to save more on your beauty purchases, via various beauty programs.
Some of these you probably heard of and some not at all but maybe next time when you make a beauty purchase this guide will come in handy!

Bloom.com
The site is a social beauty store that gives your recommendations on products based on your beauty profile, and similar to Beauty.com they give you 10% back on your purchases instead of $10. However free shipping is on on orders $49 and up, they also give samples with purchase and they do it in tiers, the more you buy the more samples you get (see diagram below). They also have a ton of promotions going on, for example right now if you purchase $100 you get $30 in Bloom dollars that can be used on your next purchase, $10 if you spend $50 or $20 when you spend $75. If you shop a lot they have a VIP program you can join if you spend $100 in a 6 month period, where you can get a birthday gift, better samples, more than 10% back in Bloom dollars and free returns on your orders.

CVS Beauty Club
CVS for me is my primary drugstore of choice, primary because of their ExtraCare Bucks program, they launched this program back in 2011 where you can receive $5 in ExtraCare Bucks when you spend $50 in beauty which includes skincare, fragrance and more. So everytime you use your CVS card, they automatically track what you spend on beauty and what you have spent so far will show up on your receipt, this program resets every year so be wary of what your balance is. When you first join you will also receive a 10% off your next beauty purchase, however it excludes sale items which is a bummer. Getting rewarded for buying beauty products is pretty sweet and buying $50 isn't hard especially in a year, and you get $5 back to spend on whatever you want at CVS. Bonus is random goodies you might get if you buy specific items, I heard that someone bought Essie nailpolish and later on they received a coupon for a free one (FYI just an example and might not happen for everyone).

Beauty.com
A stricky online company, they sell mostly high-end beauty/skin products but their counterpart Drugstore.com sells drugstore brands if you couldn't tell from their name. What I love about Beauty.com is that they offer free shipping on orders over $25, they also offer samples like Sephora and gift with purchases of certain items. If you subscribe to their newsletter you will get notified of their friends & family discount (20%) and when they have a certain gift with purchase. You can also combine your items from Beauty.com and Drugstore.com and they will ship together, best of all you can get 5% back from your purchase from both sites. The 5% back comes back in the form of Drugstore.com dollars where you can use on your next order (no minimum required).

Sally Beauty Club
I have heard about this reward program but am not a member myself, it costs $5 to join and the membership is annually. However on their site it states that once you join you will receive a $5 enrollment reward which is valid for a month after you join which makes the membership free. Joining also saves you in the long run, since you pay the member price as opposed to the original price (as shown below). Other perks include getting a 15% discount for every month that you spend $25. Overall this program sounds good but since I do not shop there, I do not need a membership but I feel like anyone who is into nail polish or hair products this is the rewards program they should join.

Sephora Beauty Insider
For most people who shop at Sephora regularly you probably know about this program, where you will receive a point for every dollar you spend, and once you reach 100 you get to choose a deluxe sample of your choice. For me I have saved up to over 500 because at 500 points you get to receive a set of deluxe samples or sets of makeup, skincare you name it. Other perks include, VIP status which can be earned when you accumulate 350 points in one calendar year, where you get more access to freebies, in store events and more. Here's the lowdown:

- Free Birthday Gift every year, no purchase required (this year it was a set of mini sized Fresh lip balms)
- 1 point for every dollar spent, when you reach 100 points you can receive a deluxe size sample of what they currently have available
- 350 points and gain VIP status, where you have access to store events, freebies for VIPs only, and more

Here are a few 100 point deluxe samples (samples change once they are out of stock)

ULTA
ULTA has a decent rewards program but for some reason I always gravitate toward Sephora even when ULTA has 20% off coupons all of the time. If you aren't familiar with ULTA they are similar to Sephora but they also carry drugstore brands, but not as many high end but still enough to suffice anyone. In terms of their rewards program they have different levels of rewards depending on how much you spend per quarter, you can start getting earning a certificate with every $50 you spend there. They have 6 levels, where you will reach a level for every $50 you spend (ie. spend over $100 reach level 2). I am liking the free haircut and style (up to $35 value) however you need to reach level 6 to get this. This program is free to sign up so if you already shop there you might as well get one.

Here is a look at what you can get with your rewards (looks like they change them from time to time)

So after looking at this list of beauty reward programs, are you interested in any of them or are there any you want to suggest that I have not mentioned above? Please share!
